In all projects the time will come to give acknowledgement to the individuals that assisted in its completion. As a child my mother taught me to always give credit where credit was due. I was to be thankful and appreciative when someone went out of their way to do something nice. I am appreciative and thankful to two individuals, Edward E. French and Professor Sean Dwyer for working together on the audible book, Archidamus. I feel fortunate to have signed Edward French to produce Archidamus through ACX. His career as a Special Make-up Effects artist has him in demand. Ed French is a two-time, Best Make-up Emmy winner, Oscar nominee and three-time winner of the Best Makeup Artist Award given by the Hollywood Guild, Local 706. In 2017 he won an Emmy for Best Makeup FX artist for HBO’s “Westworld.” His Oscar nomination was for “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Ed’s other films include, “Terminator 2”, “American Sniper", "Batman Returns" and feature film "Suicide Squad." His work in television can be found on his website. He has recorded several books for audible, and can be found at www.youtube.com/frenchedward06, Fiction Fantastique Channel. You can find more information on him at, www.edwardfrenchmakeupfx.com Once Archidamus had been read Ed felt the Gaelic and French needed to be added in the reading. He asked if I might know someone who could assist him with the correct pronunciations. Professor Sean Dwyer, a friend, is a Senior Instructor of Spanish at Western Washington University in Bellingham Washington. He speaks eleven languages, five fluently and as he told me six more with a little assistance from the dictionary. Sean is a survivor of traumatic brain injury from a car wreck in January of 2015. He has just signed a contract to write his story called, A Quest for Tears: Surviving traumatic brain injury. I approached Sean respectfully asking for his time to assist Mr. French with the Gaelic and French translations, adding the correct pronunciations. Sean did not hesitate. He translated, recorded and contacted Ed. Sean and Ed, strangers, worked hand in hand to see that Archidamus was given the added extras that make it an awesome audible book. The individuals I have met, contacts thru emails and friends, enrich my life each day. Professor Sean Dwyer has been given acknowledgment in the closing credits of the book for his assistance to Ed French. Archidamus will be available on Audible, Amazon and I Tunes, September 2018. Once again, I wish to thank, Edward E. French and Professor Sean Dwyer.
Nice job gentlemen. If you want to sell your books it takes time. Time from home, friends, family and from writing. There are ways to make it easier. The Houston Writers House has helped many authors with the Kroger Program. One individual Deborah Fonteria took this task to heart and worked with Kroger to make it possible for authors to set up and sell our books through the check out. This takes the headache away from customers who want one way to pay. It has been a wonderful year with Kroger. Your friends support you. The stores support you and the communities support you. A customer of the store may not purchase but you have made a contact. They now know who you are and a smile, card or small gifts will make an impression. The management and staff have been wonderful and are there to help place you with the greatest flow of customers. At the end of the day you return home, restock and if you have time write, talk to friends and family and start over again. I just wanted to take the time to say it's worth it! Thank you Kroger, Deb Fonteria and The Houston Writers House for caring about authors!
