When you decide to write a sequel you should remember that sometimes they're good and there is always the possibility it could be a disaster. I had no intention of writing a sequel to Archidamus, but had so many individuals contact me after the book was released asking questions and all but demanding they get answers. WOW! was I surprised and pleased.
It took some time and soul searching to see where a sequel would be headed. It has been two years, several additions and rewrites. The sequel to Archidamus will hopefully be ready this summer for those wanting and needing answers. I will have a cover and title soon for you so keep checking back. Time slips away on all of us and it has with me. I'll try to catch up here on new information. You Just Can't is now available on Audible. This is a great read by Carol Jacobanis, who adds to the story and will have you smiling and laughing. Find me again is in final review by narrator Sharon Cline and will be headed to Audible soon. Two awesome ladies that will have your attention. Archidamus was honored with two Gold medals by Feathered Quill for Adult Fiction and Mystery/Thriller. The cover was given a first place award by TopShelf Magazine in printed fiction. I have been busy since retiring after 30 plus years as a nurse. The Denton Book Festival had some rain but it didn't keep the readers away! I shared a table with my friend Michelle Rene. I have not been sitting just watching the wonderful sunsets on Galveston island. There is something new coming soon. Finally to all the wonderful Mother's out there, enjoy your day and all those to come.
I will attempt to keep this sight updated but if you cant find information here, Facebook, twitter and Instagram are good places to find me. It's been a great year! Merry Christmas and Blessing for the upcoming year.

Time progressed on and so did technology. We moved into the world of television. In homes across the United States families now gathered. We no longer had to use our imagination. A new system to thrill this generation with visual stimulation. In time lives once again became busy, rushed. We now could once again listen to stories with cassette tape and players, then progressed to books on discs. These were new and interesting but not practical with the continuing active life styles of the next generation. Enter books you download on your phone or I-pad. A person can literally carry thousands of books and audible books at their finger tip. Authors have the ability to touch readers in their preferred way, physical, e-book or audible. It is an interesting process to turn a book into audible. Authors basically are allowed to shop for that special voice that will bring their book to life. I was very lucky to have signed Edward E. French as the voice of Archidamus. His voice brings every character alive. He stepped above and included French and Gaelic conversations in the recording. Now Available on Audible! https://www.audible.com/search?keywords=Archidamus&ref=a_search_t1_hdrSrc For all Audible lovers this is one you will want to add to your books! I must thank Professor Sean Dwyer for his assistance on the Gaelic and French pronunciations. He worked with Ed French to see all was correct. Sean speaks eleven languages. The future will be exciting with all possibilities for authors and readers. Imagine the ability as a reader to choose a person to read the book you purchased via hologram. It's possible, just remember, who ever thought you would be able to read or listen to a book on your phone. Open your mind, read or listen to a book. Travel to a time and place you have never been. Encourage your children to read, share a book with your friends. On those nights curl up with something good to drink and go on an adventure! In all projects the time will come to give acknowledgement to the individuals that assisted in its completion. As a child my mother taught me to always give credit where credit was due. I was to be thankful and appreciative when someone went out of their way to do something nice. I am appreciative and thankful to two individuals, Edward E. French and Professor Sean Dwyer for working together on the audible book, Archidamus. I feel fortunate to have signed Edward French to produce Archidamus through ACX. His career as a Special Make-up Effects artist has him in demand. Ed French is a two-time, Best Make-up Emmy winner, Oscar nominee and three-time winner of the Best Makeup Artist Award given by the Hollywood Guild, Local 706. In 2017 he won an Emmy for Best Makeup FX artist for HBO’s “Westworld.” His Oscar nomination was for “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Ed’s other films include, “Terminator 2”, “American Sniper", "Batman Returns" and feature film "Suicide Squad." His work in television can be found on his website. He has recorded several books for audible, and can be found at www.youtube.com/frenchedward06, Fiction Fantastique Channel. You can find more information on him at, www.edwardfrenchmakeupfx.com Once Archidamus had been read Ed felt the Gaelic and French needed to be added in the reading. He asked if I might know someone who could assist him with the correct pronunciations. Professor Sean Dwyer, a friend, is a Senior Instructor of Spanish at Western Washington University in Bellingham Washington. He speaks eleven languages, five fluently and as he told me six more with a little assistance from the dictionary. Sean is a survivor of traumatic brain injury from a car wreck in January of 2015. He has just signed a contract to write his story called, A Quest for Tears: Surviving traumatic brain injury. I approached Sean respectfully asking for his time to assist Mr. French with the Gaelic and French translations, adding the correct pronunciations. Sean did not hesitate. He translated, recorded and contacted Ed. Sean and Ed, strangers, worked hand in hand to see that Archidamus was given the added extras that make it an awesome audible book. The individuals I have met, contacts thru emails and friends, enrich my life each day. Professor Sean Dwyer has been given acknowledgment in the closing credits of the book for his assistance to Ed French. Archidamus will be available on Audible, Amazon and I Tunes, September 2018. Once again, I wish to thank, Edward E. French and Professor Sean Dwyer.
Nice job gentlemen. If you want to sell your books it takes time. Time from home, friends, family and from writing. There are ways to make it easier. The Houston Writers House has helped many authors with the Kroger Program. One individual Deborah Fonteria took this task to heart and worked with Kroger to make it possible for authors to set up and sell our books through the check out. This takes the headache away from customers who want one way to pay. It has been a wonderful year with Kroger. Your friends support you. The stores support you and the communities support you. A customer of the store may not purchase but you have made a contact. They now know who you are and a smile, card or small gifts will make an impression. The management and staff have been wonderful and are there to help place you with the greatest flow of customers. At the end of the day you return home, restock and if you have time write, talk to friends and family and start over again. I just wanted to take the time to say it's worth it! Thank you Kroger, Deb Fonteria and The Houston Writers House for caring about authors!
There comes a time when an update is necessary. The Look Look for me Series is no exception. The newer cover tell more of what my stories contain. The women that found a calling to leave their homes and travel to heal. I am proud to have a new look on these Award Winning Novels. Available now for order. Archidamus I will confess to not being a fan of the paranormal genre, however, I am a devoted fan of Janet Shawgo. Archidamus is a fascinating book, with interesting characters, suspenseful plot line and extremely good writing technique. Shawgo has the ability to draw the reader into the story and keep them there until the very last page. A lot of research went into this book and it’s very apparent that the author isn’t hesitant about putting in the work it takes for a successful story. The award-winning Archidamus has earned well-deserved praise and one can only hope that this very talented author keeps writing, and writing, and writing. ~ Linda Thompson, Host of TheAuthorsShow.com You Just Can’t I’m convinced there is absolutely no genre Janet Shawgo would not excel in. Having read You Just Can’t … in a couple of hours, I laughed until I had no eye makeup left. To call this quick read a comedy would be a serious understatement. Just look at her full book title – trust me, You just can’t… The series of short stories are interesting, and what’s most surprising, believable. So much so, I doubt there are many women who have not experienced something similar in at least one of Janet’s stories. This author has serious writing chops and I just can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next. ~ Linda Thompson, Host of TheAuthorsShow.com I have decided to take the next step and work on an audio book. I want to begin with Archidamus and see how it does then will think about the others. I'll keep you up to date as things progress.
